Unfortunately hackers have made another criminal breach.  This time into the systems at Anthem.  According to their news release, the breach is believed to have occurred in late January.  An initial analysis conducted by Anthem showed the information that was accessed were member names, member health identification numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, employment information and income data.
If there is anything that comes close to being positive, it is that they are saying no card data was included.  However, we will continue to monitor the situation to determine if any further action, such as reissuing debit cards, will be necessary.
We suggest that if you are, or have been, a customer of Anthem that you go to their response web page or contact them to learn more about this situation.  They have said they will provide credit monitoring and identity protection services for those people whose information was accessed.  Anthem’s web page regarding their breach is here:  http://www.anthemfacts.com and  http://www.anthemfacts.com/faq
They also established a toll free number, 1-877-263-7995, for questions regarding this situation.
As always, we encourage everyone to monitor their accounts (not just your Callaway Bank accounts) frequently for any suspicious transactions.  Using tools like balance alerts, online banking, and mobile apps helps make keeping a close watch easier.  Please contact our Customer Care Team or your Personal Banker for questions.
