CKBB recognized at Chamber Banquet

At the 2014 Annual Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce Banquet Dinner last night the Callaway Kids Bank Board of Directors  was awarded the Allen Connor Youth Award. This award is presented to a high school student or youth organization for community service and dedication to Fulton or Callaway County.  The Callaway Kids Bank was founded in 1993 and has been teaching kids to save for 20 years. While the overall mission is to encourage and help kids learn to save their money, the Board members are also responsible for a budget and must insure donations reach out to kids in an effort to make a positive impact.  A few of the organizations they’ve supported in the past are:

  • DARE program
  • Youth Leadership Callaway
  • Fulton Street Fair’s Kiddie Corral
  • SERVE’s Adopt A Family
  •  American Banker’s Association Teach Kids To Save Day where they arrange for a special visit to the 3rd grade classes in their schools.
  • Junior Achievement

The Board members accompany C.B. Squirrel, The Callaway Kids Bank mascot in parades and other kid-friendly events in the communities.   The mission of the Kids Bank is to teach kids the importance of saving their money so as they become adults they will be in a better position to provide the lifestyle they “choose” for themselves and their families…..rather than having to “settle”.

Downtown Fulton Revitalization Offer

As recently reported by KOMU, New Opportunities Open For Potential Business Owners:

http://www.komu.com/news/new-opportunities-open-for-potential-business-owners-52281/

In an effort to jump start revitalization in the downtown business district, an integral part of the larger Brick District in Fulton, Missouri’s historic Brick District, The Callaway Bank created a special lending program with a pool of $1,000,000 at a rate of 2%.  This unique area currently has several vacant storefronts providing opportunity to those interested in starting or expanding a business.

We hope this offer will encourage prospective business owners to bring their ideas and thoughts to the table to discuss.  There are people out there with ideas, determination and desire to make something happen.  We have money to lend and resources available.  Let’s put their ideas and our dollars on the table and see what we can make happen to revitalize this historic area into a vibrant place where people want to be and want to visit.

The offer is targeting a portion of Fulton’s Brick District from Court to Nichols Streets and 4th to 6th Streets.  Current business owners in this area are also encouraged to take advantage of the offer to make desired improvements to their buildings inside and out.  We would also like to hear their thoughts about revitalizing their businesses in the Brick District.

The offer has helped “take the cork out of the bottle” so to speak and open discussions.

Bottom line – we’ve been serving this area for many years.  We’ve learned from the best that when we rely on a community to keep our doors open, we owe them.   We must give back.  Well, we’re putting our money where our mouth is.  We hope you’ll bring your ideas in, put them on the table and together let’s see what we can make happen.

If you’d like to learn more about being a part of this historic revitalization project, please fill out the form below and someone from our team will be in touch soon.
